After Midnight
Blues/Rock
After Midnight were formed in 1985 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, the home-town of The Animals, Mark Knopfler and Sting. The band took their name from ECs first solo US hit. In 2011 they are continuing their 25th Anniversary Tour throughout the UK.
In the past 25 years they have become have become something of a rock institution. There have been many highlights over the years, including support slots with Doctor Feelgood and Steve Marriott. In 2008 After Midnight played at The Acoustic Festival of Britain. It was a great honour for them to perform straight after Fairport Convention and just before Jethro Tull.
For the first 15 years After Midnight performed at most of the pubs and clubs in north east England, building up a loyal following but playing a variety of covers including Free, Cream, Dire Straits and of course Eric Clapton. In 2000 the band began concentrating on tribute concerts devoted entirely to Slowhands music.
